A nationwide health system with more than 70 hospitals and clinics wanted to migrate to Cerner Millennium and needed to convert its data from a legacy system. Cerner Millennium is suited to enterprise healthcare providers serving multiple specialties.
Data to migrate included person, encounter, laboratory orders and results, radiology orders and pharmacy orders, and immunizations. All used different HL7 transactions and were independent units of work. Hundreds of millions of records were extracted and uploaded into the new system, requiring significant system tuning and query optimization.
Our technology experts took ownership of the entire history upload, day-to-day project management, system configuration, and custom development. Full upload was completed prior to go-live, resulting in a cost-effective transition to the new system and with no loss of historical data.
